Biography

Dr. del Pozo, Associate Professor of Spanish, holds a degree in English Literature and Linguistics from the University of Valladolid in Spain, and an M.A. and PhD in Spanish from the University of Georgia.  While serving as lecturer at UGA, he created a successful study-abroad program in Havana, Cuba, and also has extensive experience leading study abroad in Spain, Peru, and Argentina.  As a teacher, he has sought ways to bridge the gap between academia and the Latino and immigrant communities in the United States.  His research focuses on Spanish and Latin American theater and cinema, with special attention to questions of national identity, race, and gender.
